After reading the issues people are having with aftermarket calipers, I am wondering what I should do about my right caliper (Bendix). Here are the options:
1) Rebuild it. I think eeuroparts sells the kit. A friend has all the tools required to do the deed.
Pros: use a known quantity as opposite to mystery meat.
Cons: caliper better be rebuildable or I will not be driving car until getting a replacement.
2) Go to the yard and find another caliper. Rebuilt it and then swap.
Pros: My Volvo will only be down while I swap calipers. I also have the opportunity to find factory ones.
Cons: I honestly do not know which years the non-ABS Bendix calipers were used.
3) Bite bullet and get aftermarket.
Pros: warranty and having a "new" part.
Cons: mystery meat.
