87-740 Drive line vibration. Or worse? 700

My 87-740 now has about 270,000 miles. The current problems has to do with vibration near the gear selector beneath the car.
The vibration gets much worse when the A/C compression engages. Ive been feeling vibrations for quite awhile, but the vibrations went to more severe level.

Any input, hints, suggestions are appreciated.
