Tail Light Rust 200 1981

This happened because my tail light assembly had a small leak for several
years. Can anyone suggest the best (most practical) way to fix this. I have
wire brushed all the rust off and painted it with Rustoleum Rusty Metal Primer.
I was thinking of some sheet metal and JB Weld. Any suggestions appreciated.
