Rear Water Pump Seal 700 1991

So i finally got my new refurb head installed on my 91 Regina after overheating it ( long story ) im filling it up with water and notice a stream of water comming from the water pump rear seal just below where the heater hose mates in, ive got a drip at the heater hose as well but thats and easy one to fix, i used non hardening permatex when installed the pump, just a smear. Prior to this head i had put a used head on and it did the same thing. i cant imagine the block is warped, i didnt even crack the last head just caused the aluminum to soften in a spot where a water line was on the other side of the engine and i had a pee hole form and leak there, otherwise the car still ran fine. what am i missing here, needless to say i could probly figure it out but im ticked i spent all the time getting her back to gether and id probly break something if i dont sit back and take a break and ask others what they think.
