Hey All,
I have a son who is CAR CRAZY!!!! I bought a $500 Volvo 240DL wagon for us to play with, and am wondering what is the very first thing we should do? The car runs just fine and has only had 4 owners, the first for most of its life the second was an elderly lady who rarely drove, then her Grandson.
So here we are with this wonderfully funky car and want to learn how to work on it & fix it (if its simple enough) My Husband has no interest in working on cars and there are no other family members or friends that like to work on cars for fun. I used to have a 90 VW Cabriolet(it never really needed any work till my Husband dropped the Transmission while Hot Rodding it) sold it, then a old VW Bus that I sold before we could learn anything about it (we moved)
So my son and I are going to learn what we can on the internet and just FIGURE STUFF OUT!!! I couldn't find any summer camps that taught 13 year old kids how to work on engines. I think we should first learn to do an oil change & change the spark plugs and check/change air filter. tell me what you think.
Thanks, Karen
