Oil pressure sensor harness connector 200 1989

I'm still fixing some problems related to my recent adventure into accessory bushings and power steering hoses.

During the job I managed to break the harness connector to the oil pressure sensor. The sensor is the only thing 'supporting' the alternator with the adjustment assembly removed and if you drop the alternator ... :(

After pulling the broken plastic from the sensor, the sensor connection looks like a male bullet connector inside a black plastic cylinder.

Did the harness connector leave behind some of its metal on the sensor?

I understand that the sensor works by providing a ground for the idiot light when there is no oil pressure (key in KP 2 or just started the car) and breaking the ground when there is oil pressure.

Thinking I was clever I picked up a 14-16 gauge disconnect and stretched it out so that it would fit over the bullet connector in the sensor. It's not a great fit, but on the first try I had an oil pressure light that worked as expected.

A few days later my fix no longer works. The oil pressure light never comes on. The disconnect is still in place. Unfortunately I don't have a multimeter on hand to check the operation of the sensor, but I think it is working as expected.

What is the best replacement for the harness connector? Should I go for a junkyard connector? The junkyards are pretty sparse around here. Probably not a 240 in sight. Do the 7/9 series use the same sensor?

-Spencer
