No heat now 900

Hi Everybody - I replaced my heater control valve with a Murray heater control valve and now I have no heat. The Four season heater valve looks the same as the new one and it has the same id numbers too. I put it in with the arrow going towards the firewall/heater core, the same way as the last the one. Is it a defective heater valve or is there something else going on? I'll do some research in the FAQ section.
