Last September after about 14 hours of towing a UHaul down here to Texas, the 245 shut down and left me sitting on the side of I-40. The first thing that I did was change the fuel pump relay and the car started right back up only to shut down several miles later. After changing the 25 year old coil, I fought the thing all of the way to Odessa, TX the next day, and it "miraculously" cleared up and hasn't given me any problems since, until yesterday that is.

I blamed this on bad gas, but yesterday the car shut down in traffic, not suddenly, just a gradual slowing of the engine which allowed me to get off of the road. After waiting on a AAA tow for more than an hour, I decided to see if it would fire, which it did, and I drove it the rest of the way home with no more issues.

Since the ignition control module (right side front engine compartment) has been changed once, I'm thinking that this thing may be the problem with the old solid state components opening up under the high heat conditions down here. Does anyone know of a newer replacement control unit for these cars or am I stuck with buying another used one?
