'91 740 NA wagon purchasing advice 700 1991

All,

I just had an opportunity thrown at me earlier today - there is a '91 740 (NA, non-turbo) wagon not too far from me that I heard about through a friend of mine from church. It's owned by a friend of his.

This wagon is an automatic and has 203k miles on it. I was told that the a/c was just recharged and that a new battery was put in several months ago. There are some side trim moldings missing, though, and the driver's seat (it has leather upholstery) is in poor condition - it's cracked and worn.

I'm going to see this car tomorrow. Owner is asking $1000 but I'm going to start off at $700 and make that my initial offer. Any advice? I definitely don't plan on going over $850, because I don't think these NA 740 wagons are worth much.
