Fuel pump relay connector melted 1984 245Ti K jet 200 1984

My getting louder by the day fuel pump is causing the fuel pump relay and fuse to get hot. Hot enough to melt to the connector on the relay. I checked the in tank pump and all looks good. Before I switch out the pump and accumulator is there anything else I should check?
