I have changed many a fuel filter over the years, but I can't honestly say it has ever resulted in an increase in efficiency or performance.

Has anyone here ever changed a fuel filter and found the car to run noticeably better?

Has anyone here ever autopsied an old filter and found evidence of a collapsing element or other obstructions? I have not, but it still feels good knowing a fresh filter is in place.
