Hi all, I just finished swapping in a junkyard m47 tranny into my 1987 245 w/ 367k miles. The old one had developed the screaming bearing sound which I ignored for years as it got progressively louder. Anyways, the swap was a success, "new" tranny sounds and drives great.

Now, however, I've noticed the exhaust is hitting the body just infront of the front muffler, causing a loud rumbling sound below rear seats. I put in a new passenger side motor mount as it was quite bulged and almost had oil filter resting on it, but I'm still getting the exhaust/chassis contact. I also put in a new tranny mount when I did the swap. Is there a "settling" that occurs with new mounts? I'm thinking of loosening various exhaust connectors and letting it sag a bit before re-tightening; waste of time? How have others dealt with this issue? Perhaps rubber hangers that are a bit more loose?
