Electrical Odyssey, or NOT? 200

I truly appreciate all your help on this matter. Within the last three months I have been having what seems to be an electrical problem with my Volvo 1992 240 wagon (250,000 miles). In the beginning the quality battery with +20% of warrantee life left on it couldn't hold a charge and was replaced, and at the time the alternator (1.5 years old) was checked. A few weeks later the 240 wouldn't turn over the starter motor, so the starter was replaced. Weeks later the car began to misfire then run then stall. Soon after the car would run, then would stop running while driving. The new battery ran low so the alternator was replaced and the battery fully charged. The 240 repeatedly would stop running while driving, so I replaced the coil. After that did a code check this week of the Fuel Diagnostic Mode test, the ECU Inputs Mode test and the ECU Output Mode test that uncovered an O2 sensor issue and a left front ABS sensor issue. Today I changed out the Ignition Control Module (ICM), and again fully charged the battery. Then ran the car for 30 mins. in park then it stopped running. The car will start again in about an hour, and then later stop. The exhaust seems to have a stronger odor today, and there is a click that comes from under the dash above the driver's left knee when the car is started. Also the AC was not blowing cold until today after the ICM was replaced.

Wondering if the ICM is heating up and shutting down due to a short in the components that it is serving? Other than the new parts, or perhaps because of a short within one of them, does the ICM have any connection with other parts that should be considered to be checked for problems? Again, I appreciate all your help on this matter, and thank you for making the time.
