Hello All:
1967 Volvo 122S Wagon. Seven years and 26,000 miles ago I had a lower ball joint failure coming back from an anniversary weekend with Wendy.
The marriage survived.
At that time I removed the entire lower suspension and replaced all the bushings and ball joints. I have been hearing a knock from the front of the car for about a month or two and upon inspection I see that the boot over the driver's side ball joint has been compromised so I am trying to do a visual inspection of the ball joint less than an hour before going to a wedding 2+ hours away. I am calling around to see if I can borrow someone else's car but I may have to risk it.
Should I just replace all of the ball joints and bushings at once next week? Is this overkill based on the mileage and vintage of my last full frontal rebuild? The anti-roll bar bushings look pretty dried out at this point too so I guess I am answering my own question.
If you think I should go all in, please give me a quick shopping list so I can call into IPD tomorrow and get in an order for delivery next week. Thanks all.
Anyway, I miss you guys. Hope all is well.
Cheers,
Pooch
