failing coil ? 120-130 1967

We took our '67 220 on a 300 mile road trip to the North Shore. Cruised about 70 MPH or so for 150 miles and the engine started to randomly miss a little.

The next morning I checked the plugs. The middle two a little darker than the end ones, but I kind of expected that with a single Weber. Points, rotor, cap, looked okay. Plug wires seem fine. I ran my finger up and down them and did not get a shock. When cold (40F) the primary resistance measured 8 ohms and the secondary was 9.8K ohms.

Drove up to Grand Portage and back (~100 miles) and on the way back it seemed to miss a little again. The primary measured about 6.5 ohms and the secondary was 10K ohms. I would have expected the resistance to be a little higher when it was warm. And I know that checking a coil with a DVM is not accurate, but I did not bring a coil tester with me.

Does the change in resistance sound like a coil that is on its way out ?

Thanks

Greg
