re: 87 245 auto - tiny oil leak at oil plug 200 1987

Hi All,

When I change my engine oil, I always put a new cooper washer and torque the bolt to 44 ft lbs per Bentley. For awhile, this method proved to be successful until I did my last oil change. I have a very tiny leak and it's shooting some oil to my new tranny mount. :-(

What should I do?

Drive like this for another 5000 miles and watch my tranny mount suffer? Or take chance, swap the washer & put back the plug before the new oil runs dry? Should I torque to 50 ft lbs?

By the way, it's a new plug too. . . Thank you as always.

It's copper not cooper! :)
