any experience with silicone coolant hoses?

On the way from helping run the Eastern Motor Racing Association races and time trials at Summit Point, WV to family in Winston-Salem I blew the under the manifold heater hose ('84 245 Ti). At least it had the decency to start leaking on the downhill part of I-77 over the Blue Ridge Mountains (as opposed to the long uphill section) and I was able to exit at the first off ramp on I-74. I bought a length of regular 5/8ths heater hose and that got me the remaining 40 miles. Now I'd like to replace all the hoses and found a complete set of silicone hoses for a very reasonable price. I have no experience with silicone. Does anyone have any experience/opinion? Thanks in advance---Dave
