It won't come off. I am ready to push the car off a cliff. It will not come of. It will not come off. It will not come off.
ARGH!!!!!!
;-)
Okay, now that my current angst is purged from my system...
1990 740 Base
I rotated the two plastic "screws" and removed the panel that the pedals ride through. No issues. All three of the T30 bolts came free up at the top of the knee panel. It sort of flops from side to side (like a quarter inch or so at the ends, not much) as it rides on that rod that has to be pulled toward the seat to remove the panel.
The rod will not come out. Not at all. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Naught. Nil.
There is a rubber boot or sleeve on the pin/rod up on the inside of the metal panel that has to be removed after the knee panel.
HOW DO I GET THIS PIN TO RELEASE?
I cannot tell with my little mirror whether the rubber boot is supposed to stay in place on the metal panel or is supposed to pull out on the rod/pin. I feel what seems to be a single rib, as though the rubber boot or sleeve is like a push pin for a door panel, but cannot tell whether that is to hold it in place from being pulled out or pushed in further.
There is absolutely zero in the FAQ (yet again) on this topic that I can find. I will look again. I am not sure where else to read, however.
