Violent Vibration from Rear of 245 during braking 200

Hello all, trying to resolve all the problems on my two bricks. My issue for the this thread is on my 1991 245. When a freeway speeds if I need to brake I get a very violent vibration/flutter from the back of the car. It literally shakes the whole car. It reminds me of when Chuck Yeager was trying to punch through the sound barrier. Anyway, I looked at the rotors and pads and all the wear patterns look normal etc. Since it seems to flutter I was thinking in my pea brain that maybe the anti-lock brakes might have something to do with it? Thought maybe I could pull a wire or a fuse to disable the ABS and see if I still have the issue? I searched through many threads and did come across a few hits but most were on the AWD forum. I did find a thread on the RWD forum where a seized u-joint might be responsible. However, the posters problem was at low speeds, not freeway speeds. I have NO issues or vibration with braking a medium and low speeds, only at freeway speeds. The problem is very severe sometimes and not so at other times. Any ideas from my fellow brick owners? Art? :)
