'89 244: KYB 4-Way Adjustable struts, 11 years old NOS in box-Still Good????? 200

Wife's 1989 244 has 192,000 miles. We are original owners. Never had struts or shocks since new. It's time. (!!) Years ago I bought two sets of KYB 4-Way adjustable struts. Put one set on our '81 245. Kept the other set. They seem to have been fine on our 245, so I can't complain. Question I have today is, what is shelf life of struts??? It is cost effective for me to use these spares now on our 244, but am I taking a chance? I'm too old to do these things myself now, so I'm stuck with shop labor rates. (Otherwise I'd just try these and if they didn't work out I'd change them myself)

I've spent a lot of time on this forum doing, "search," for struts and shock subjects, and as we all know there is a ton of info....most personal experience and opinion. Not much on the KYB 4-ways.

I intend to replace struts, piston boots, upper strut bearings and...??? As well as rear shocks. AND, I have no idea what to buy for rears. I like a ride just a bit firmer than original Volvo factory. Sachs Advantage?? Car has ipd sway bars.

Tips/opinions?? Comments appreciated. Thanks for listening, Dennis in E WA
