I notice that I am starting to get a puff of oil smoke when I restart my 1800S after it has been shut down for a few minutes. There is no perceptible oil consumption, nor is there blue exhaust evident on over run or deceleration. I assume I need to replace the valve seals. Has anyone done this with he head still attached? I have read a few old posts on other sites that reference using compressed air to keep the valves shut, or the use of rope in the cylinder to achieve the same end. If this is feasible, how are the valve springs compressed "in situ" to enable to removal of the valve keepers? I have double valve springs.
Thanks
