overdrive switch/light 120-130 1967

What are you using for the overdrive switch / indicator light. Our car has a toggle switch and a green indicator light in the steering column shroud. The switch works fine, but the light is invisible during the day and at night it is this bright green spot in the middle of the windshield. There must be a better way. What is it ?
