CPS Prices...Really? 200 1992

As a result of the nearby post concerning a no-start condition, and the recommendation that the OP look at the CPS, I just did some checking regarding the price of a replacement. Using eBay as a reference, I was shocked to see the huge swing in prices for the same part. Actually a spread of 10X!! The least expensive one being $12, and the most costly clocking in at $121 plus shipping! Now, yes, I understand the concept of quality, but, given that the CPS is simple, both in its function as well as its construction. How does one justify paying much more than the low end cost for this part? Even the average cost seems to nest in at $ 45-55, which, to me, seems excessive.
