1965 544 Sport totally stock 1.8L
when idling I can see a steady stream of air bubbles in the half full clear plastic fuel filter that is between the stock mechanical pump and the duel SU carbs. Also a steady stream of bubbles can be seen in the glass top on the fuel pump.
Car runs great at highway speed and also when pushed hard through the gears but idles poorly. Attempt to adjust carbs not much help....thinking all those air bubbles giving carbs a fit.
No difference in bubbles with gas tank almost empty or totally full...so can't be a problem with pick up tube in tank as the gas level is above the tube when full.
Can't see any leaks under car. Seems like if air goes in, gas should come out when engine off.
Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Thanks, Tom
