Voltage Regulator 700 1990

Greetings,
I removed the Voltage Regulator from my 1990 (740GL sedan 4-speed Auto trans) to check the brush wear, the regulator has a green resistor .....however the new Regulator I purchased does not have any resistor..... eEuro claims it is the correct regulator. The 740 has a Bosch alternator, 740 has 100k original miles.
Has anyone had any experience with this issue,comments are appreciated
