transmission flush 200 1989

hi out there brothers of the brick. it finally happen after 25 yrs radiator developed coolant to transmission leak. have read in FAQ how to flush disconnecting top rad line and flushing. my question is should I try and drain aa much of the fluid out, pan and torque converter before and then add new oil or add as old oil is being pumped out thur rad line. new rad and filter, pan gasket ordered any help is appreciated. thanks the daddy
