O2 sensor placement. 200 1993

Sometime soon I will be replacing my entire exhaust and a friend will weld it all together. The Magnaflow cat I'm interested in has the O2 sensor after the cat but the stock one on the car now is before the cat.
Does that make any difference?
I'll probably replace the O2 sensor during the exhaust welding fun.
