My daughter's 240 is having issues where the overdrive doesn't stay engaged most of the time. The button and light on the dash work and you can hear the solenoid engage/disengage when we manually activate it. The overdrive arrow light does not light up/engage when it kicks out of gear - so we do not think it's the solenoid. We started trying to change out the ATF and filter but so far have not been able to loosen the dipstick from the pan.
(Have checked the fluid level by running through the gears and I think we are ok. Trans shifts smoothly through the other gears just fine.)
Going to try dropping the pan again this weekend with luck. Is her over drive issue likely to be becasue of old fluid and/or old filter?
