Revisiting A-Arm Bushings 1800 1970

Nothing like reading the service manual after you've done the job, but I just noticed that the official Volvo manual says that after replacing the bushings to jack up the lower A-arm until the top of the rubber bumper is 1.5" from the front axle member (where it hits), and then tighten the bolts. As stated in the recent thread, I followed the conventional wisdom of tightening the bolts with the tires resting on the ground. That's resulted in there being about a 1.75" difference in this measurement on the driver's side and about 2" on the passenger side.

Should i undo the bolts and follow the manual or is what I have "close enough for government work"? Fortunately, it's not being aligned until next Tuesday.
