Hi all,
My "new" '90 240DL came with 105,000 miles and all the records. However, I noticed that there was a clunk whenever I went over a bump. I took it into one of those brake/muffler/transmission/kitchen sink chain-stores for a free estimate. (Wink, wink.) To my surprise, the guys found nothing wrong. They declared it "fine." Everything was tight, they said. They suggested it may be coming from the "strut cartridge" and if it gets worse, they have to be replaced. Does this ring a bell with anyone? Does a 240 suspension need work around 100,000 miles?
