"Ghost Singing 3-part Harmony" Noise Solved! Thanks Dr. Foster! 200 1992

Over the holiday I managed to change my oil and oil filter for the first time. I can't believe how difficult it is to get a wrench on that oil filter? But after finishing the oil change I decided to investigate the howling noise that the car has been having. The noise was evident in cold weather but usually went away after 15 miles or so.

After posting my problem on the brickboard, Don Foster indicated that he thought it was the Driveshaft Center Support Bearing. Since my hands were numb from the cold, I decided to give it only a quick look. I was getting too cold to mess with taking the drive shaft out, so I loosened the center support bearing bracket and pumped some grease under and around the dust cover. Some of the grease must have worked its way to the bearing, because the noise is gone! So if anyone else out there is having this problem, I recommend giving it a quick look. I think I only spent 5-10 minutes under the car. It took more time to jack the vehicle up and set up the jack stands. Thanks for your help Don! I think I'll replace the bearing once the weather warms up in the Spring.
