Overheating Fuel Relay 200 1986

Hi,

My problems need to end or I need a paycheck. My fuel relay is overheating nad my car is stuttering so bad that it is nearly inoperable. Actually, it is inoperable, but I can--if I needed to--drive it down the street. So, I changed the rear fuel pump and that didn't seem to solve it--although there was a tear in the filter bag. So, I have a main fuel pump and will change that tohight. (Is that what I should do?)

Very unhappy about all this. But appreicate the constant hand holding from you all.
