Catalytic Converter Life? 700 87

My 87 765T 151k miles has a rattling sound under the floor boards that I have not been able to identify, but am suspecting it might be the Catalytic Converter. Is there some way to verify it is the cat? Also what is the expected life catalytic converters on this model?

If I do need to have it replaced is Midas a good place to get it done?
