Rust Protection Advice Wanted 200 1985

I just purchased a virtually rust-free 85 244. I live in the midwest where the roads are frequently salted. I would like to keep the rust away, especially in the wheel wells and behind the rear wheels. I'd like to do the work myself. Does anyone have any suggestions or product reccomendations?
