I tried to jump a car last week, and after failing to, I went inside and left my car ajar open all night. THe battery was dead, so I jumped it off of the truck, which didn't seem to be working. A closer look revealed that the ignition coil had blown- the tarry substance that came out was nice and hardened, so I assume it happened when jumping the first car.
I replaced the ignition coil, and tried to jump it again, this time off of the other 740. It will turn and try to start, but just not quite make it.
I was told the power stage might be to blame...any way to test this theory?
Will a 1990 have the same power stage as my 87?
Any other guesses? I've thought it could be the fuel pump as well.
Thanks in advance
