Today I was cleaning the throttle body on my 1990 760Ti (Thanks for all your great advice on how to tackle this job) after completing the job I decided to check some of the hoses on the engine for wear. Well I got carried away and removed the airbox to clean it. I remembered hearing about removing the sound deadeding foam to increase the air flow to the engine so I removed the foam before reinstalling the airbox. When I took my car for a test drive (couldn't believe how much better the throttle response was from cleaning the throttle body) anyway, the car made a swoshing sound when I hpressed the accelerator, sounds like suction. Is the sound I am hearing the result of removing the foam from the airbox or did I possibly screw something up when cleaning the throttle body? Also are there any hidden possible future maladies from removing the foam? Anyway I will probably put it back this weekend but if there is something that could go wrong, I'll do it in the morning.
Thanks again for all your help in restoring a 1990 760Ti
