water coming from under headliner 200 1985

When it rains, I have some water that drips from under the headliner. It drips directly above the passenger side removable panel in the cargo area (does that make sense?). In other words, on the other side of hte car where the spare tire is located. Is there a way to pry away a part of the headliner to determine where the water is coming from? Looked on the roof, no signs of holes or cracks for the water to come through. Thanks for the help
