Strange electrical glitch 200 1986

1986 245 DL - Turn the lights on, and the rear defrost light comes on as well. The defroster actually starts to function.

Turn lights to parking, turn ignition 'off'. Car continues to run. Turn lights off, car stops.

There's a short somewhere, of that I am certain. I thought at first that it was a tailgate wiring issue, however I disconnected that wiring to isolate that out and it did the same thing. At this point, since I don't have a wiring diagram, I'm a bit on the lost side as to where to look.

Any suggestions?
