Flame Trap 200 84

I have just purchased my first Volvo, 84244GL. After reading the owners manual I checked the flame trap, although this is a second owner car with 112,000 I think this is the original trap,and hose to orfice was stopped up. I checked this per owners manual, now I'm wondering can there be any blockage to the part that the flame trap mounts to?
