BROKEN SPEEDO 200 1986

Hey Guys,

Last fall my odometer quit. Had my local sho look at it an dsaid the gears were stripped. since they primarily work om Mercedes, they couldn't help me. Then shortly after, they speedo quit too. I looked around for a used one on the net, paid 30 plus shipping and had it installed. Guess what, the same thing happened. My shop said it's getting a signal, but the new used one is as broken as my old one. What are the chances? Seems like something else in my car must be the common denominator but I'm no mechanic. I found a local speedo shop in the yellow pages. guy sais he can take it apart and fix it. does that sound reasonable? thanks in advance for any suggestions. (I hate these problems that you have to chase)
