amsoil 5-30 in 164 in hot weather 140-160 1970

After reading so much about synthetic oils, I decided to take

the plunge. I found what I think is a pretty good deal on some

amsoil 5-30, so I got some -- however I've done more research and

it indicates that 30 might be too low for hot weather, especially

in a car like a 164. Should I try to take it back and get 20-50

instead? It will soon be between 100 and 120 degrees Fahrenheit

'round about where I live, and sometimes I will be stuck in

traffic on roadways where the air temperature will be higher than

that.

I currently use delo(sp?)400 15-40 since it has more letters

in the sae rating than the other stuff on sale around it, and

it comes in the big bottles...

Suggestions?
