Factory speakers are dead... 200 1986

The factory speakers on my front doors are shot. Every 4" speaker now on the market comes with a tweeter that sticks way out, so far that the grill that I have won't cover it. Is this a new thing? Or is there a place I can go to buy speakers like the ones I had before, without an "erect" tweeter?
