Here is my problem: When I start my car, the service light, battery light & brake light stay on, no I didn't have my emergency brake on. The lights eventually fade when driving (freeway) but will start to slowly glow when slowing down and applying my brakes.

Thanks to this message board, someone told me that my alternator brushes are failing (alternator going out) and that this is a DIY job. I would appreciate any help and insight on this, I have a Chilton's book on my car but I haven't seen how to actually do this repair. Thanks!
