Hi!
I need your help, I have a 1982 245 volvo (K-jetronic fuel system) and the fuel pump is noisy : the noise sounds like there was no pre-pump : that's the noise you usually hear on these models when the in-tank fuel pre-pump is not working properly.
But the in-tank sock fuel filter, pump and hose (all genuine volvo parts) are new.
I replaced the hose between tank and main pump, the hose between pump and pressure accumulator, the accumulator itself (I suspected it was clogged somewhere) ; I replaced the main fuel filter.
Now things are going slightly better, but the main fuel pump still makes a huge noise.
The in-tank pump works (it's whirring), the noise happens all the time (even with the tank full)
Besides, the main fuel pump fuse gets hot (the fuse box is slightly burnt near the connexions) but I heard this is normal ; I had replaced the relay 3 years ago when it died.
I fear the culprit is the main fuel pump, but it had ben replaced one year and a half ago because it was noisy (already).
Has such a story ever happened to anyone? who can help?
Thanks for you replies.
Antoine.
