Last night my '94 960 started displaying an indication of a transmission fault. The lighted arrow directly below the tach in the row of idiot lights began flashing. Volvo owner's manual calls it a "fault in the automatic gearbox" and recommends a visit to the dealer.
The problem occurred when I was driving about fifteen mph and shifted into low gear for an "italian tuneup". I'm wondering if this could be related to when I replaced the PNP (neutral safety) switch. Could shifting into low gear have somehow upset the calibration of the switch? Or is this problem totally unrelated?
Please help. It's a great car, but I'm just about ready for the Camry!
