A Volvo 740 that will start cold but not start warm? 700 1987

I have a friend interested in buying a 1987 Volvo 740 Turbo from a gentleman who says the only problem is that the car will start fine when it is cold, but when warm, it will not start at all, he must wait until it cools down again to start. We are trying to guage whether or not this is a big problem or small one and whether or not it is worth it to persue this purchase? Any ideas or comments, etc would be really helpful! Thanks!
