NOT STARTING, no idea why, how about you guys? 200 79

The car ran fine this morning while I was installin a tach, I onlu let it run a minute at a time so I didn't have to work around a hot engine. The engine ran fine as I set up the instruments, running it a little at a time to make sure everything was OK. Once everything was finalized I couldn't get it and still can't get it to start.

I checked all the fuses, I can hear the pumps pumping. I checked all the conections and everything seems to be fine. THe battery seems to be fully charged. I have more than 3/4 tank of gas. It wants to go but can't. All I get is a little bit of a backfire pop. What should I be checking that I haven't mentioned?

Previously the only problem was that my cold start injector isn't functioning right. Yesterday I put some STP in with the gas. I doubtr this did anything but I'm grasping at straws. The EGR light was on for a little while while I was testing the car, would this cause it to not start?

It's going in the shop Tuesday for the Overdrive problem anyway but I want to take care of the starting problem here, I don't need to spend money on my mechanic milling around the car for extra hours. I'm NOWHERE near a Volvo mechanic so I only got to the mechanic as a last resort.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated! I must have forgotten something to check, I'm sure one of you guys know what might be happening.

Thanks

Richard
