Turn signal - buzzer sound!

As I was driving into work this morning, something strange happened. As I merged onto the interstate I heard something shift from inside my instrument cluster. Then the next time I used my turn signal, I heard a brief buzzer sound and then the turn signal activated. I activated the turn signal a few more times with identical "buzzer" results. A few miles down the road I tried the turn signal again, the "buzz" stopped. The turn signals seem to be working properly now. Any advice for me about what's going on?
