Just finished the turbobricks air box mod. I had to take of the ridged snorkerl leading from the air boxto the turbo. On the pipe from the turbo, there are two holes on the back side, the side closest to the firewall. The one closer to the driver's side has a hose coming out of it and going to apparently the maniflod, and the one closest to the passenger side has nothing! As i put the top of the air box and fuel dist. on, i noticed a vacuum line that was leading from what looked to be a valve of some sort mounted on the passengers fender was not attatched to anything on the other side. The hose was vacuum line, and i think the valve had other lines going towards the turbo. It was about 18 in, long, and seeing no other places to put it, i stuck it in that hole in the air tubing intake for the turbo...is this ok? the fit was not snug at all, but it stays in, although without a snug fit i don't see how a vacuum line could be acurate.
while i'm here, exactly how bad is "torque launching" your car? ya know, holding the brake hard while bringing up the enging speed then letting off the break fast while the gas is floored. I have an '84.5 240tic with the AW71. I imagine a lot of stress would be put on the torque converter, but am i right?
