Thermostat Temp 700 1990

Just replaced the thermostat in my '90 740 (B230F) and while comparing the two (both from Volvo) noticed my old one was a 92C temp while the new one is 87C. The shop book I have shows the 92C thermostat for turbo apps and the 87C one for non-turbo apps. Any cause for concern?

Also, ever since my car was new I seem to have had a periodic "leak" between the inlet on the thermostat housing and the radiator hose. Nothing drastic but a periodic drip. I've replaced the hose and am debating putting some RTV on the inlet where the hose fits over. I've tried different style clamps but still leaks. Anything else?

Thanks,
